Among the old photos of Baguio I actually prefer those which depict the ibalois and their way of life, as compared to those which depict the infrastructure or buildings built by the Americans. Such old photos capture the Ibalois in their "age of innocence."

This picture makes me angry if they were coaxed into taking their shirt off. Can you please write an article about this. Please save this in your history files.

Re: Ibaloi women are the only fully clothed among the Cordillera women; I wonder if it is because the Ibaloi territory is the coldest compared to that of us further north (Bontoc-Kalinga-Apayao) where is is warmer? Or is it because the Ibalois are closer to the trading centers where cloth is readily available?

Anyway, great history picture! Thanks, Janet

Hello Janet, Here is a page from Dean Worcester where he describes Ibaloi women as fully-clothed.

I love this photo, I'd do the same if someone out of the blue takes photos of me without asking permission. . That shows I am full blooded Ibaloi. Thanks for posting old Benguet photos.
