Seems like this shot was taken from the vicinity of the present orchidarium area. The present rose garden is in the foreground

"I can breathe...".-That's the feeling I get from this photo.

Just food for thought...
How does one pump back life-giving oxygen in Baguio City? With so many ideas for fixing Baguio, how about "oxygen" as key criteria in deciding what ideas to toss in, out or line up in the business of uglification control and reversal?

Hi Carolyn! There is plenty of oxygen in the outlying areas of Baguio. Ang ganda ng Tublay and Mount Sto. Tomas is still the cool, windy mountain it used to be. The problem is nagsisiksikan tayo sa gitna, para tayong mga tanga! We should develop "edge communities" revolving around Baguio.

They called that Peace time....before WW II. In spite of life's simplicity then and today's skyscrapers and all, that time looks more prosperous than now

but of course! Or ride the see-saw right next to it, or climb the half-globe metal bars! Thanks Jack for reminding us of the things that somehow escape us once in a great while!

My sister actually fell into the lake while accompanying our lolo in one of his regular walks around the lake. Memories...

Primary purpose why BLIST was formed wasn't it? What seems to be a silent moving concern of the city is the rise of health related outbreaks brought about by the constant surge of populace with their comfort(?) multiple cars in tow. Come on neighbors help us heat up the city...it's too cold up here! Ah yes forget the law of "falling objects," our wastes stays up here even waste water we can manage...look at our perennial "brown lagoon" it never fails to show up during rainy seasons...it doesn't flow downstream...promise...

At any rate, there's no difference in the world we live since though it's true that we create more roads here, it's still is a choke-road divided to five lanes getting to work and back home in spite of policies or so, we still have the same stigma of "encroaching" natures habitat....we still crave for more lanes and more cars to park on the roadway. Let's just say...we all are Lego players since day one...block by block we try to build next thing we know the blocks crumble down...then we ask...How did it happen? Why did it happen? Prevention or cure which would you prefer? Despite all the planning, man always fail nature.

Thank you for posting, makes me yearn more for well-meaning 'Kababayans' to make haste in reinventing Baguio's galore but no more building in Burnham please!!! Extend the park with lush greeneries instead. The Botanical garden is not enough to de-clog the city...we need greeneries at the heart of the city.

From Mt. Sto. Tomas, you can see smog looming atop the city a far cry from Baguio's past.
