Thanks, Jack. Sa'n ba available itong buong collection? Wala bang planong mag-publish ng Baguio/Cordillera memorabilia of photos and writings for the Centennial? This would be a treasure! Ed

Hi Ed! I just downloaded all that i posted from various sites, marami na akong na-save. the centennial commission is coming out with a coffee-table book for the centennial, they wanted us to bid for it but their budget was only P3-M. sabi namin, printing cost pa lang kulang na. Anyway we are coming out with a centennial edition of our Baguio City Yearbook, we are just finishing the 2008 edition, which is late na. Regards!

The Present Baguio City National high School (BCNHS) formerly Mountain Province High School (MPHS) in the 1920's easily gained popularity in athletics. As shown above this was the Baseball team of MPHS in the 1926-1928, for this years it has the strongest baseball team in Northern Luzon. Coach Arthur McCann produced baseball champ pitcher Antonio Capulo who one time pitched a non-score game to Northern Luzon teams. Juan Carantes rates second best baseman in the whole country in those days. Antonio Dimas, Eugene Pucay, Gilbert Sonduan, Dibson Diwas, Braulio Caoili and Chakchakan Colis became the legends in their time.

Hi Jack,

Is it possible to order a copy of picture? I took a picture of my son in "G-string" playing soccer in our backyard. It looks so funny, but at the same time I was so proud. His tail was swinging back and forth.

I was wondering if you can compile old picture like the Masfere's. I would be glad to be one of your customers.

Thanks you for all your hard work in trying to bring up the past through pictures. Janet

what were the circumstances in this photograph? who were the riders and was this a common way of travel? it is very similar to the chinese palanquin.

Back then, this was considered luxurious travel. Even old Antipolo and Laguna have photos of long-haired denizens astride bamboo hammocks carried on poles by Tagalog cargadores. They travel in their Filipiniana dress while lying down on their backs.

Photo had no caption but my educated guess is that this photo was taken 1902 when wives of high officials of the American colonial government came up to Baguio from Bauang, La Union through Naguilian and Sablan. I read excerpts from a book by an official's wife and she describes coming up to Baguio in "sedan chairs".
