The Americans as Seen by a Native of Benguet

Dr Jose Maria Cariño, the first Igorot mayor of Baguio, wrote this article in the early 1900s while he was still a student of medicine in America.

I accidentally found this article, which our clan knew nothing of, while visiting for the first time the Lopez Museum at Benpres Bldg along Ortigas Avenue in Manila.

Most of my lolo's diaries and letters are missing. His letters from America talked about the racial discriminations he suffered. Maybe some of my relatives will find them someday.

Wonderful ! Thanks for posting . Wish I can read more ... this is a must- read article for all Benguet Ibalois . Something to be proud of. It should be displayed in all public buildings in Baguio and Benguet.
