Jack, has any of our Baguio newspapers ever run a series on old Baguio---photos and captions? If not, why don't you start one? (After all, many Baguio residents might not have the chance to read your excellent centennial magazine.) The series could be a regular section that will appear until next year's centennial. It could evoke a range of reactions---pride in the old, shame about the new, a resolve to change things, etc. I'm sure it's going to inspire a lot of comments from readers---the way this blog has. Just looking at the old market brings back a lot of memories. It was where my family actually lived in our early years in Baguio (ginawa naming living quarters yung store namin---near the Stone Market which is visible at the right upper part of photo---when we came up in 1950 until we could afford to rent an apartment nearby. this was also the experience of the other market vendors, karamihan mga kabaryo naming Batanggenyo). And the other photo, that of Mines View Park as it used to be, will surely stir up a sudden longing for that departed world...
