Literary Kin from Shakespeare Country
Allan Cariño Nettleton, the first-born son of my sister Joji and her husband Geoff, recently came to visit Baguio and the Cordilleras, the place of his birth.
Allan finished his undergraduate course in Literature recently from the great bard Shakespeare's country (perhaps also better known as Princess Diana's country), the Great Britain, and was raring to find some local materials to write about, as well as find his Ibaloi roots.
The last news we had before this visit was that Allan was losing sleep over a play he was writing. His mom felt relieved when he finally finished it.
At a family dinner hosted by Allan and his mom at Baguio's Cafe by the Ruins, a few literati from the Baguio Writers Group were also celebrating someone's birthday -- setting the night into some sort of a literary event.
